Position Title: Operations Supervisor

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Position Overview

As a result of growth and business restructuring, we are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to this stand-alone site. Reporting to the Operations Manager ANZ, you will have control of the facility with your focus and accountability on:

  • EH&S

  • Production

  • QA

  • Warehousing/Logistic

  • Engineering/Site Management

You will work closely with the ANZ management team located in Melbourne with authorities to support and ensure strategies are completed successfully. You will be hands on whilst holding operational control of all aspects of the facility.

Primary Responsibilities

Your experience will have been gained from a chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Safety – Responsible for ensuring all safety requirements.

  • Direct and Indirect Labour – Responsible for effective cost management and use of resources to support production demands and delivered at the lowest cost – Unit Cost of Manufacture per kilogram.

  • Manufacturing Overhead Costs – Responsible for effective cost management of those cost elements directly involved with production activities.

  • Manufactured to Schedule – Responsible to ensure compliance in meeting planned production schedules.

  • Quality – Responsible for ensuring all quality requirements as determined by quality assurance processes are followed at all times in our production processes.

  • Lean Manufacturing – Responsible to ensure that lean manufacturing processes including but not limited to 5S.


Minimum Requirements

  • Manufacturing or Engineering Degree

  • 2-5 years in the same or similar role within the chemical or food industry [semi-continuous/batch processing preferable] – strong background in Unit Operations [mixing] and process control, specifically in hazardous manufacturing environment .

  • Knowledge of the Adhesive or Paints/Coating industry.

  • Skills and ability to evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes, using Lean Six Sigma methods.

  • Financial capabilities sufficient to demonstrate value – add to business.

  • Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal functional groups as well as external customers and suppliers
