Accountant; Aurora, IL

H.B. Fuller is seeking an experienced Accountant who will report to the Accounting Supervisor for Construction Products and has shared responsibility for preparation of routine financial statements, analysis, and account reconciliations.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monthly Accounting Close
    • Preparing and posting journal entries in general ledger (JD Edwards)
    • Assist with preparation of month-end financial statements
    • Assist with loading CP financial information into HFM (the Corporate financial reporting tool)
    • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations
  • Year-end financial reporting (In addition to regular month-end responsibilities)
    • Prepare documentation for external auditors
    • Prepare year-end workpapers that are sent to Corporate Office
    • Assist other team members in year-end closing activities
  • Assist with the coordination of Sarbanes-Oxley (internal control) activities, such as testing of controls, documenting and updating SOX process narratives, utilize A-line software to document SOX control information, control certification
  • Special Projects
    • Utilize financial knowledge and systems expertise to provide ad hoc reports for management on request
    • Track spending of capital projects
    • Assist with integration of recent acquisition into CP accounting systems


  • Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or finance
  • 1-3 years of accounting or finance-related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
  • Minimal travel required

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Experience with an ERP general ledger system
  • US GAAP knowledge and experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing company
