The Plant Managerin Bellevue, OH reports to the Engineering Adhesives North America Operations Director and is responsible for a 24/7 continuous blending process for extruded film products used in the solar panel industry.  The Plant Manager will have direct control over a $6 million operating budget, facility capital projects that drive improvements, 5 direct reports and approximately 40 employees.   

This role will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, clean, highly productive plant, while making the most efficient and cost-conscious use of the equipment, materials, and employees to produce high quality products on first pass production runs. This individual needs to seek solutions that strengthen quality, value, service, and effectiveness while respectfully challenging the way "things are done” and supporting others in doing so. 

The Plant Manager will drive continuous improvement efforts and achievement of plant goals and objectives, manage change effectively and develop and gain support for both operating and capital budgets. They will work closely with division and regional EHS, Quality, Engineering, and Sourcing to effectively introduce new products and processes while ensuring employees are engaged and have the opportunity for career growth.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years of progressive operations management and with proven track record of success

  • Experience maintaining a safety culture, and developing programs related to EHS

  • ISO, Standard Work, and Zero-Defect methodologies experience

  • Success in leading a facility, and managing a facility through a turnaround or growth events

  • Ability to effectively engage employees at all levels in a positive manner that fosters team building and community, and helps identify succession plans for high potential employees

  • Effective, strong communications and analytical skills, be persuasive and have good general management instincts

Preferred Requirements

  • MBA and Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or engineering

  • Expertise in SAP or similar ERP database management systems

  • Adhesives experience

  • Continuous blending and extrusion experience in a chemical industry

  • Multi-site experience

  • Process control and Quality control experience

  • Six Sigma certification, (Green or Black Belt), experience in design for Six Sigma DFSS

  • Exposure to applications using continuous improvement techniques; TQM, Problem Solving DMAIC, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA’s, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Value Stream mapping

  • Knowledge, experience and demonstrated results improving process capability, monitored and controlled via a Capability Index.

  • Business Acumen and Business Agility experience

  • Operational and strategic planning experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $125,000 - $150,000.
