Job Description


The production manager of the Blois site reports to the Plant manager and has responsibility for:
• Ensuring Health & safety requirements in all workshops in the plant with legal and H.B.Fuller requirements
• Manage the production of adhesives within the 2 areas of HM & 2kPU with a yearly output of approximately 15-20 ktons
• Ensure that the production is cost effective, meet Customers lead times, service level & quality requirements
• Be potentially the back-up of the site manager during holidays
• Support of Project Management within the assigned departments (Maintenance / Quality / Logistics)


• Ensure implementation & adherence to EHS standards in Operations area with the support of EHS manager
• Develop & maintain a high standards safety working culture (PSM, Hazard studies, etc.)
• Ensure the production of adhesives based on Safety, Quality standards &the Service Levels agreed
 Plan the manpower needed to ensure the required production output (including external temporary labour)
 Responsible for planning & scheduling, jointly with the S&OP team (asset planners)
 Lead and develop the employees
 Ensure high availability of the production lines jointly with the repair and maintenance group

• Continuously optimize and improve the production standards and processes on the site
• Preparation of project proposals and capital expenditure requests
• Participate in Customer Audits


Primary accountability:
• FL/MOH budget (Factory Labour and manufacturing overhead cost) in the area of responsibility
• CAPEX Budget cost of projects in the area of responsibility

Required Skills


• Chemical engineering Master degree or comparable (engineer or equivalent required)
• > 5 years practical work experience in chemical industry manufacturing position
• > 5 years practical work experience in managing employees
• Ability to deliver key messages and communicate with all level in the organization and work under pressure if needed
• Very good spoken & written English and French language capability. German is a plus
• “Hands-on” person
• Good technical understanding & practice of operation performance KPI deployment & monitoring process
• Good computer skills on standard software (MS-Office etc.)


• Previous experience in chemical or automotive industry essential
• Experience in working in a international environment
• Good practice of the 5S-principles, Lean 6 Sigma, - Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate is a plus
• Experience in manufacturing in a hygienic environment
• Proven track records on leadership and performance management
• Experience in ERP Tools and Inventory Management
• Experienced user of ERP software (i.e. PRISM/SAP)


• Direct reports up to 12, indirect up to 24
