Inventory Control Specialist

Schedule: 1st shift 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday; Occasional Overtime

The Inventory Control Specialist reports to the Warehouse Manager and has responsibility for receiving inbound raw materials, picking and shipping outbound finished goods to meet customer expectations.

Job Description:

  • Follow, without exception, all work instructions and safety rules including use of all PPE and safety equipment

  • Able to use and monitor computerized display and control screens. Demonstrated ability to use the ERP system. Able to complete required data entry into the system.

  • Participate in 5S and the general housekeeping of plant and work area

  • Participate in audits to comply with regulatory/customer/quality requirements

  • Respond to Customer Service Representatives and customer order notifications in a timely fashion

  • Schedule inbound freight carriers.

  • Coordinate with Production Department to ensure finished goods are ready for outgoing shipments

  • Maintains and follows SOX requirements as applicable

  • Maintain expected quality standards. Pick and prepare finished goods stock for shipment. Deliver accurate orders as determined by customer shipping requirements for both domestic and international shipments.

  • Use digital scales in metric and US standard units

  • Receive raw materials and packaging items. Ensure quality documentation (COAs) is entered into ERP system for incoming shipments.

  • Enter transactions into ERP system.

  • Maintain accurate raw material and finished goods inventory. Perform cycle counts as directed. Reconcile with system inventory.

  • Complete business spreadsheets and run reports in excel.

  • Assist in any administrative needs during the absent of supervision.

  • Complete Hazardous Material training

  • Complete training for international shipments

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency coupled with year of demonstrated success as a

  • 2+ years of experience in Warehouse, Shipping and/or Receiving within H.B. Fuller or equivalent

  • Strong problem solving and process improvement skills

  • Basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, percentages, weighing, measuring, and weight conversion.

  • Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written directions.

  • Effective communication, and organizational skills

  • Must be able to log into a computer, access company-based systems, perform basic data entry accurately and use an ERP system.

  • Demonstrates ability and willingness to train lower level lab technicians.

  • Demonstrates a willingness to assist co-workers in areas outside of their direct responsibility

  • Forklift certification

  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

  • Experience with SAP

  • Ability to effectively communicate and relate to other associates

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hazmat expert will be handling Hazmat material; Hazmat material handling and shipping certification

Physical Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to stand.

  • The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to remove or lift boxes, stretch and reach with arms extended, and stoop.

  • The employee must, regularly, lift and / or move up to 40 pounds, alone.

  • Occasional work in cold and heat depending on season.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
