We are looking for a Development Chemist to Join our Dandenong South Manufacturing site

The development chemist is an on -site lab bench position that contributes to product development and modification of existing products following established project plans by utilizing analytical techniques for characterization of raw materials and their impact on formulations; analyzing data, and communicating findings and results to the project lead. The individual in this role will need to understand and follow Design and Development protocols and abide by EH&S regulations and business conduct policies and procedures

Primary responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical Manager you will actively engage in developing / maintaining our key technologies to achieve our objectives and strategic visions of our business: -

·         New Product Development – Assist development and commercialization of new products and technologies in the local market.

·         Perform laboratory tests to assess the physical and performance properties of new and existing products in new and existing applications.

·         Interpret, draw conclusions, prepare high quality reports and communicate results and data to stakeholders.

·         Completing multiple projects independently, drawing conclusions with guidance, reproducing and articulating results, and outlining business impact.

·         Supporting product or process demonstrations.

·         Fulfilling responsibilities as required by the Quality Management System for the site/business unit.

What to Bring for Success?

·         Bachelor’s degree or relevant Diploma in chemistry or chemical Engineering with at least 1 year of professional, industry experience.

·         Understanding of the diverse raw materials integral to chemical product development.

·         Ability to provide commercial support for technical service requests.

·         Good verbal and written communication skills.

·         Good in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word or equivalent

·         Good inter- personal skills and a can-do attitude.

·         Interstate travel may be required.
