Job Description

The Senior Account Manager position is expected to grow and retain H.B. Fuller's market share and customer base in key market segments while achieving profit sales targets.

Position Overview:

A sales professional is accountable for delivering annual business results aligned with the business plan, sales, CM, and volume.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Search sizeable new business matching the BU strategy and profit standards.
  • Be recognized by customers as an expert both technical and commercially.
  • Works closely with the Inside Sales Manager, delegating the maintain tasks to focus on Growth.
  • Growth: focuses effort on delivering growth and maintains existing businesses to deliver the plan.
  • Grow the relationship with Equipment Manufacturers leading to an increased Opportunities pipeline.
  • Negotiates pricing and margin (aligned with the business) using value selling and the flip. pricing tool to capture the optimum price and margin for HBF.
  • Demonstrates business acumen.
  • Embraces change and innovation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the wood and composite market in the U.K.
  • Technically competent and independently able to manage demonstrations and technical problem-solving.
  • Focused on growth (larger opportunities) and optimising price and profitability.
  • Accountable for delivering results.
  • Ability to train and mentor entry-level or new sales roles.
  • Demonstrates an ability to communicate and influence at all levels.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree in a related field, preferably with a technical/chemical, business background.
  • 7+ years of relevant sales experience; related industry and B2B experience; preferably with a chemistry background.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and be willing to frequently travel.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Travel time depends on size/geography of the territory.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
