The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing EHS programs to effectively control environmental, health, safety and security risks, while ensuring compliance with federal, state environmental and various safety regulatory agencies. The EHS Specialist reports to the EHS Director and will provide oversight and assistance to the site leadership team, work with operations and maintenance personnel ranging from training, hazard assessment and correction, accident investigations, inspections, analytics, incident prevention programs and tracking sustainability data and initiatives. The individual in this position will spend approximately 60% of their time at the Fridley facility and 40% at the Maple Grove facility.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure full implementation and visibility of the company’s injury and illness and incident prevention program to help identify and mitigate hazards.
Investigate serious incidents, accidents and injuries and notify management of pertinent details.
Acts as company representative in dealing with government agencies on EHS matters.
Ensure compliance with site permits (stormwater discharge and well water withdrawal) and written site environmental plans (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and Spill Control and Counter Measures Plan).
Manage and coordinate site’s Emergency Response Plan with site personnel as well as outside agencies such as local fire, EMS and police departments.
Coordinate waste management activities within the site and treat storage and disposal facilities and identify waste minimization opportunities for the site.
Develop and implement EHS training programs based on site procedures, practices, regulatory requirements, and incident prevention.
Ensure training calendar is updated and training is tracked for each individual at the site based on their specific job requirements.
Assist with the development of employee safety recognition programs.
Help drive housekeeping and organization through 5S program.
Minimum Requirements
BA Degree in Environmental or Safety
3+ years EHS experience in a manufacturing setting
Strong organization and analytical skills to organize, analyze, and disseminate EHS information.
Excellent verbal, written and persuasive skills to interact with line employees and management.
Work well independently and as part of a team, remotely and in person
Proficiency with Excel, Word, SharePoint
Preferred Requirements
Environmental knowledge of SWPPP, SPCC, Hazardous waste regulations
Knowledge of environmental, OSHA and DOT
Experience with a Safety Management or Learning Systems
Multi-site experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $85,000 - $95,000.In addition to your salary, H.B. Fuller offers employees a competitive total rewards package including comprehensive benefits, incentive and recognitions programs, health & wellness benefits, 401K contributions, paid time off and paid holidays. Eligibility may vary.
