Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Location: Shirwal, Pune


Position Overview:

Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and has responsibility for organizing and managing the team and shift activity to ensure the smooth running of the production process in compliance with legal and company rules.


Primary Responsibilities

Safety:

• ·Ensure Safe operation of shift in process area, in line with defined EHS and Quality standards. Report any deviations from process or safety standards.
• He/she should be fully trained in LOTO and Permit to work system.
• Report Near miss, EHS Concerns or Incident as per defined timeline.
• Coach / Train shift employees and implement Safety / EHS as daily practices.

Production Activity:

• To abide by the security policy and procedure stipulated by the HB Fuller company and the   State at any place and any time during the work.
• Lead the entire production function shift, and meet production targets. Ensure all products are produced as per Quality specifications.
• Organize the shift staffing on daily basis (Shift), considering team members leave / vacations, and overtime hours etc.
• Preparation and inspection of raw material and packaging material, ensuring that all are ready for use.
• Prepare product batch mixtures in accordance with written instructions / procedures.
• Ensure timely booking of Raw material consumption and Finish material in SAP system.
• Packaging the final product according to the instructions and ensure that the final product is of standard quality level of HBF.
• Follow all SOP (Standard Operating procedure) in area of operation.
• Ensure a safe operation of the production in his area, in line with Quality and EHS standards.
• Report Near miss, EHS Concerns or Incident as per defined timeline.
• Maintain and promote housekeeping / 5S standards, maintain neatness and tidiness of entire operation area Supervisor are responsible for equipment’s cleaning. 
• Focus on continual improvement process to identify bottle neck and initiate appropriate actions. Actively participate improvement activity initiated from Production and organization.
• Ensure centerline process control for all technologies.
• Carry out cost saving project to reduce impact of cash cost.
• Yield and Productivity improvement, as per defined targets.
• OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) - Downtime analysis to reduce / eliminate repetitive downtimes.
• Report repair requirements to Maintenance department and get it done on priority.
• Carry out any other duties which may be requested by the Production Manager.
• Familiar with PFMEA (Process Failure mode effect analysis) and JHA (Job Hazard Analysis).
• Well verse with Corrective and Preventive actions.
• Familiar with common equipment’s used in all industry.

BUDGETARY / FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

• No budget/financial accountability

EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED

• The employees of his responsible area, report to him in the daily operation, 6 - 10 Team members.

Minimum Requirements

• 4 – 6 years practical work experience in chemical industry as Shiftt Leader or Production Supervisor.

• The person who has related Chemical operation working experience shall be in priority.

• Capability to deal and handle 10 - 15 employees.

• Willingness to work in a shift pattern (currently 3 shifts of 8 hours)

• Ability to troubleshoot, adapt to a changing environment.

• Good technical understanding of production processes.

• Good communication skills and ability to communicate with the employees in his area

• Good computer skills on standard software (MS-Office etc.) Knowledge of SAP / ERP system.

• Demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.

• Knowledge of EHS compliance and Labor law.

• Ability to read and write English language to understand work orders, production process, safety regulations and quality procedures and instructions. With excellent oral and written expression ability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or BE in Chemical or Polyurethane.

• Previous experience in chemical industry essential, adhesive / Sealant industry would be a plus

Physical Demands / Requirements

• The basic requirement of this job requires standing and always moving, going upstairs and downstairs, as well as using hand to move boxes or packages, arm power and stoop are required as well.
• ·Raw materials or materials at about 25kg are required to move sometimes, assistance to others or the use of tools to move 50kg raw materials or materials are required now and then.
• No occupational contradiction on noise or dust position.
• No color blind or color weakness.
