Position Overview

The Strategic Account Manager develops and executes account strategies that drive sales growth, profitability, and customer retention. This role manages strategic customer relationships, identifies new business opportunities, and partners cross-functionally to deliver value-based solutions that align with both customer and company objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute short- and long-term account plans to grow revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Manage strategic and global customer accounts while building a strong sales pipeline.
  • Identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions that create measurable value.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements to optimize business results.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing market, industry, and product insights.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Technical, R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support customer success.
  • Maintain accurate account plans, forecasts, and opportunities using CRM and sales tools.
  • Mentor and support the development of less experienced sales professionals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of industrial sales experience, or related marketing/technical experience with at least 3 years in strategic sales.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (25 kg).

Preferred Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience managing strategic, key, or global accounts.
  • Knowledge of value-based selling, pricing strategies, and CRM systems.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or technical sales environments.
  • Strong business acumen and cross-functional leadership skills.
