Manager Principal, Strategic Sourcing

Position Overview

The Principal Global Sourcing Manager will lead the development and execution of global sourcing strategies to ensure supply assurance, deliver optimal value, and drive innovation. This role involves managing supplier relationships, overseeing cross-functional teams, and supporting both current business needs and long-term strategic objectives. The position also emphasizes leadership in global sourcing initiatives and fostering a high-performance team environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies to support business growth, cost management, and innovation.
  • Lead and manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with agreements and company policies.
  • Oversee cross-functional teams to analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements to control pricing, mitigate risks, and ensure supply continuity.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports, fostering a high-performance team environment.
  • Identify and deliver cost savings through project management and strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze markets to create accurate cost forecasts and develop supply-demand models.
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing policies, ethical standards, and relevant legal regulations.
  • Represent H.B. Fuller in industry associations and build a strong internal network across functions.
  • Utilize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) tools to optimize value creation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of global sourcing experience with multinational manufacturing companies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multi-billion-dollar corporations headquartered in the U.S.
  • In-depth knowledge of petrochemical markets and polymers.
  • Proven ability to lead global cross-functional teams and manage direct reports effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience delivering training on sourcing topics like negotiations and contracts.

Preferred Requirements

  • Existing relationships with senior leaders in petrochemical industries worldwide.
  • Familiarity with sourcing practices in Western Europe, the U.S., Brazil, China, and Latin America.
  • Certification in strategic sourcing or supply chain management.
  • Master’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in leading organizational change and fostering innovation in sourcing strategies.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $150,000 - $175,000.
