Primary Responsibilities
Conduct bench-level lab work and independently execute basic research and development projects.
Analyze experimental results and communicate findings clearly in team meetings.
Qualify alternative raw materials and understand their impact across multiple formulation types.
Operate application and testing equipment to evaluate product performance.
Enter and manage formulas in SAP, maintaining accurate and consistent documentation.
Support efforts to resolve customer complaints by learning the product quality notification process.
Develop research plans with guidance from a supervisor and track project progress effectively.
Collaborate proactively with peers to generate, share, and test innovative ideas.
Document experimental data in formats suitable for intellectual property protection.
Participate in site visits to manufacturing plants and regional laboratories to support product scale-up and testing.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field plus 1 year of relevant experience.
OR a Master’s degree in one of the listed fields (no experience required).
Basic understanding of lab instrumentation and formulation principles.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical content clearly.
Familiarity with quality tools and ability to apply them in lab settings.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Preferred Requirements
Hands-on experience with SAP or similar data management systems.
Exposure to intellectual property practices such as patents or trade secrets.
Familiarity with raw material qualification processes.
Prior experience in an industrial R&D environment.
Knowledge of customer complaint resolution and quality notification systems.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $69,000-87,000.In addition to your salary, H.B. Fuller offers employees a competitive total rewards package including comprehensive benefits, incentive and recognitions programs, health & wellness benefits, 401K contributions, paid time off and paid holidays.
