Position Overview
H.B. Fuller is seeking a Scientist II to support global regulatory compliance and chemical hazard classification. This role evaluates product data to determine accurate dangerous goods and GHS/CLP classifications for worldwide transport and safety documentation. The position also provides regulatory stewardship to enable compliant product commercialization across assigned markets.
Primary Responsibilities
Determine classifications for DOT, IATA, IMDG, and ADR transport.
Apply GHS/CLP criteria to support hazard communication and SDS content.
Review chemical and formulation data to make regulatory determinations.
Maintain product information in regulatory and ERP systems.
Support market access and product stewardship activities.
Collaborate with R&D, operations, and commercial teams to address regulatory needs.
Monitor evolving regulations and recommend compliance actions.
Ensure documentation accuracy and alignment with global requirements.
Minimum Requirements
B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field + 1 year of relevant experience; or M.S. + 0 years.
Experience applying DOT, IATA, IMDG, or ADR transport regulations.
Understanding of chemical properties, formulations, and hazard communication.
Knowledge of GHS/CLP principles and SDS structure.
Ability to analyze technical data and communicate conclusions clearly.
Preferred Requirements
Dangerous Goods certifications (IATA, IMDG, DOT, or equivalent).
Experience in regulatory affairs or product stewardship.
Familiarity with TSCA, DSL, or REACH inventory processes.
Experience with regulatory databases or ERP tools such as SAP.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $72,000-$93,000.In addition to your salary, H.B. Fuller offers employees a competitive total rewards package including comprehensive benefits, incentive and recognitions programs, health & wellness benefits, 401K contributions, paid time off and paid holidays. Eligibility may vary.
