We are seeking a highly skilled Process & Project Engineer to lead the execution of a Greenfield Plant Project producing high-value products for multiple market segments. This role involves plant design, commissioning, and process optimization while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
Act as Process Leader for new plant construction, commissioning, trials, and start-up
Develop project scope, objectives, engineering plans, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments
Collaborate with engineering, production, and R&D teams to drive innovation
Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders for project execution
Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses
Manage CAPEX projects from conception to implementation
Design and optimize chemical processes for safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Monitor process performance and implement corrective actions
Conduct process hazard analyses and risk assessments (HAZOP, FMEA)
Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and company policies
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering
3–7 years of experience in process engineering and project management in chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries
Strong knowledge of chemical process design, scale-up, and optimization
Familiarity with industry standards (OSHA, EPA, ISO, GMP, ISA, IEC, NEC)
Proficiency in project management methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean)
Fluent in English and Spanish
Ability to work onsite and travel as needed
Preferred Requirements
Experience with batch polymerization reactions
Experience in multinational companies
MBA and/or PMP certification
Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and green chemistry principles
Basic Portuguese language skills
Hands-on experience with automation, control systems, and process instrumentation
