The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations, ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, with high quality, and at the lowest possible cost. This role leads production teams, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Additionally, the Production Manager plays a key role in developing team capabilities, managing production budgets, and driving the performance necessary to meet operational goals.
Responsibilities
Supervise and monitor the production process, ensuring adherence to production schedules and standards.
Lead daily operations by directing team leaders and operators, workplace organization, and process discipline.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as legal and internal training requirements.
Analyze production performance data (KPI, yields, order closing) and implement corrective actions to achieve targets.
Manage reprocessed products and instruct operators on appropriate handling and dilution procedures.
Coordinate with Maintenance and Quality teams to address equipment failures and product anomalies.
Conduct performance management including absence tracking, overtime, vacation planning, and disciplinary actions.
Lead or participate in improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, MASP etc.).
Prepare and maintain production reports, ensure proper documentation, and support audits and compliance standards.
Manage procurement of production supplies and monthly order closings.
Promote a culture of engagement and cross-training across the workforce.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Production, or a related technical field.
Minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing environments, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Solid understanding of production planning and control (PCP), quality control, and team supervision.
Intermediate English required.
Proficient in ERP systems.
Strong knowledge of safety standards and emergency procedures related to equipment and processes.
Experience in managing multi-shift operations, budgets, and performance indicators.
Preferred Requirements
Knowledge of ISO and IATF standards
Prior experience in the chemical industry
Project management experience, including capital projects
Familiarity with customer complaint management and root cause analysis tools
Experience with budgets and strong cost control mindset.
