Position Title: Engineering Technician I NA
Position Overview:
Process Technicians work with the assembly Line Leads to troubleshoot problems on the line and resolve Engineering Project issues. Activities include process technology implementation, process quality control data collection, process capability data collection, test implementation and data collection, measurement, maintenance, and assembly. Aspects of the job may also require machine or equipment programming and assisting with process research, process commercialization, and process installation.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Exceeding customer expectations and customer satisfaction in products, systems, and service as a primary goal.
2. Assisting engineering in developing, bringing to commercial readiness, assessing reliability, and determining failure modes of advanced electronics manufacturing, packaging, and assembly technologies including Surface Mount Technology, Optoelectronics Assembly, MEMS Packaging, Microelectronics Packaging, and Electronics Packaging.
3. Activities include process technology implementation, operate test equipment, operate assembly equipment, hand solder surface mount and through hole components, hand assembly of electronic components, hand assembly of mechanical components and enclosures, support preventive equipment maintenance, process quality control data collection, process capability data collection, test implementation and data collection, and assembly.
4. Aspects of the job may require machine or equipment programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
5. Manufacturing, production, process development skills, failure mode analysis, and process analysis skills.
6. Assist engineering and operations with development of new process technologies, manufacturing processes, production systems, process tools, and material solutions.
7. Ensure on-time delivery of projects and services.
8. Recommend and implement necessary actions to drive quality improvements.
9. Implement project and/or process router packages and maintain their content throughout the project.
10. Comply with Quality System procedures.
11. Any other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate or process technician training is preferred. Three or more years of experience as an assembly operator or solder operator in the electronics industry or manufacturing industry.
• 2 or more years of electronics manufacturing, electronics packaging, or optoelectronics packaging experience preferred.
• hands-on electronics/optoelectronics/microelectronics experience desirable
Preferred Requirements
• Work with little or no supervision (self-motivated).
• Ability to work with and within a team.
• Ability to complete assignments accurately and in the required length of time.
• Ability to organize and schedule work in a dynamic, multi-project/priority environment.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
