Position Title: Quality Engineer
Position Overview
The Quality Engineer will perform various tasks related to products, systems and processes. This person will be responsible for updating documentation, training personnel, perform audits and help promote and ensure customer satisfaction by safeguarding the quality of our products, but also fosters a culture in which all employees are actively engaged in guaranteeing it.
Primary Responsibilities
Knowledge of electronic assembly processes and process steps. Work as a member of a highly productive and customer-oriented team and can work in a dynamic environment balancing a multi-project/priority load.
1. Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
2. Work with little or no supervision (self-motivated).
3. Good communication skills
4. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
5. Demonstrated knowledge of inspection best practices, version-control procedures, and defect management processes
6. Superb computer proficiency, including database management and Microsoft tools
7. Familiar with the requirements of IPC-A-610
8. Familiar with the requirements of IPC-A-600
9. Familiar with the requirements of J-STD-001
10. Background in SMT and Microelectronic Packaging (MIL-Standards)
11. Familiar with the requirements of ISO9001/AS9100 requirements.
Interpret, build upon, and comply with the company's quality assurance standards
Maintain the complaint, nonconformity, and corrective action procedure using records and tracking systems, including root-cause analysis
Facilitate the training process in QT9.
Document quality assurance activities with internal reporting and audits
Develop new standards for production, with improvements as needed, and create inspection protocols for processes
Identify training needs and ensure companywide participation
Pursue continuing education in new solutions, technologies, and skills
Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of products to verify conformance with specifications and deliverables
Assist operations team in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels for company goals and KPIs
Investigate product complaints and reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company procedures
Develop or update company complaint and inspection procedures to ensure capture, investigation, and proper documentation of complaints
Help lead the efforts to monitor and mitigate risks by creating FMEA analysis of production and QMS processes. Report recurring issues to management
Provide training and support to quality assurance team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes
Provide document control information for the updates to routers.
Read and understand drawings and fabrication notes.
Create Drawings and other production documentation in Valor and link them in Manex.
Collect data for QMS, assign to responsible parties and create when needed and follow up for:
NCP’s, CAR’s, SCAR’s and RMA’s
Review supplier related defects and provide purchasing the data and complaint information. Issue and follow up on corrective action request with suppliers.
Help to create, implement and maintain a Quality Management System that meets the requirements of ISO9001 for the AMT business unit.
Any other tasks or functions assigned by the manager.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
