Position Title: Quality Coordinator

Location: Piedras Negras, Coahuila

Shift: Flexible Shift Options (Weekend Shift or 4x4 Shift)

Position Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining quality assurance continuity and laboratory oversight during operational shifts at the Piedras Negras plant. The Quality Coordinator executes standard laboratory testing, process audits, and system transactions to verify that all adhesive batches meet H.B. Fuller’s corporate specifications.

Primary Responsibilities

-Execute standard physical and chemical laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process goods, and finished adhesive products.

-Disposition and authorize the quality release of manufacturing batches based on established corporate specifications.

-Identify, segregate, and document any non-conforming materials or process deviations encountered during the shift.

-Log all inspection records and test results accurately into the plant’s internal Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure full traceability.

-Utilize SAP to perform quality inventory movements, block/unblock materials, and enter inspection lot data.

-Conduct regular quality audits and line clearance checks directly on the production and packaging floors.

-Perform basic verification, calibration checks, and routine housekeeping (5S) of laboratory equipment and instruments.

-Enforce strict compliance with all corporate EHS policies, safety guidelines, and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

-Document and escalate critical quality incidents to the Quality Manager, providing a comprehensive shift-handover report for the incoming team.


Minimum Requirements

-Active student in the final year or recent graduate of a Technical Degree or Bachelor’s Program in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Materials, or related technical field).

-Availability to work flexible rotating shift schedules, which may include weekend coverage or a 4x4 shift structure.

-Permanent or current residence in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, with reliable transportation to the plant site.

-Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for data entry, report generation, and metric tracking.

-Strong capability to comprehend and follow written technical procedures, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

-High level of autonomy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to manage laboratory operations with minimal supervision during off-shifts.

Preferred Requirements

-Prior experience or basic exposure to SAP (QM module) or any other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

-Previous exposure to industrial manufacturing environments through school laboratory projects, internships, or technical residencies.

-Conceptual understanding of Quality Management Systems standards (such as ISO 9001) and continuous improvement tools (5S, Lean).

-Basic ability to interpret technical data sheets, certificate of analysis (COA) documents, and process flowcharts.

-Basic knowledge of chemical handling, chemical safety regulations, or polymers/adhesives characteristics.
