Position Overview:

The accounts payable supervisor will lead a team of finance professionals, overseeing their daily activities and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies. This role will assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts while contributing to process improvement initiatives. This role will involve coaching and developing team members to enhance their skills and contribute to the overall success of the finance department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receives assignments based on incremental objectives and defined processes.
  • Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees and global processes.
  • Recommends changes to the process to improve results.
  • Takes actions to monitor and manage costs related to a section.
  • Works on issues requiring the analysis of data, relevant factors and resolves problems.
  • Exercises judgment and interpretation to help define procedures and policies to determine appropriate action
  • Develops and manages work plans. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will cause delays in payment on time and project implementation results.
  • Meets targets typically against a monthly plan.
  • Interacts with subordinate supervisors and functional peer groups. Interaction requires interpreting and explaining information to audiences familiar with the subject.
  • Team management

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
  • Preferred Qualifications include: CMA or CPA
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience
  • 4 years of Accounts Payable experience (Shared Services environment preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of the account payables end-to-end process.
  • Continuous improvement leadership.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodology
  • Ability to motivate and inspire great performance from each team member
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and knowledge of accounts payable leading practices
  • Ability to implement projects and migrations, implement robotics/automation, and lead practices across the Global Finance Services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • U.S. 1099 and Canada T4A filing experience (North America).
