The Role?

The Fixed Assets Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s fixed asset records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. This role involves tracking asset acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and performing reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
The Fixed Assets Specialist will play a key role in supporting M&A transactions by performing process assessments, and ensuring accurate recording, compliance with accounting standards, and alignment with corporate policies during post-acquisition phases.

What will YOU do?

SAP Projects and Merge and Acquisition Support – 50%

  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert – SME and FA Single Point of contact in future SAP Projects / Implementations

  • Support Merge, Acquisitions and Integrations in Process Assessment, Analyze and reconcile FA master data and BS FA accounts reconciliations,

  • Control the FA activities for acquired entities until In-Housing in GFS and SAP Implementation

  • Ensuring all SOX related activities are completed in a timely manner

  • Supporting External and Internal Audit

  • Support preparation of Dashboards and KPI’s to monitor Fixed Assets performance

EIMEA and North America daily work– 30%

  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness

  • Record acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation of assets in accordance with company policy (USGAAP) and Statutory GAAP standards

  • Monitor Construction in Progress (CIP) and ensure timely capitalization

  • Handling of CER and Capitalization Process

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies related to fixed assets

  • Assist in internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and explanations

  • Prepare quarterly and annual fixed asset reports for group and statutory purposes

  • Reconcile monthly fixed asset accounts to the general ledger (Integrity Check)

  • Supporting the physical inventory taking for all entities all 3 years

  • Monthly Fixed asset reporting (e.g. C-File reporting)

  • Support CAPEX Reporting

Process Improvement – 20%

  • Enabling continuous Process Improvement for Fixed Assets area and recommending opportunities / best practices to optimize the Fixed Assets organization

  • Analyze current FA processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and risks

  • Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of Job aids for all Fixed Assets activities

  • Leverage best practices and workforce optimization tools / practices to make existing processes more efficient. Actively lead others in problem-solving and root cause analysis.

Minimum Requirements:  

  • University degree in finance or economics or equivalent finance or accounting post degree qualification

  • At least 2 years of related work experience

  • Fluent in spoken and written English, other language skills also useful

  • Experience in designing, documenting, and implementing best in class processes and systems in complex organizations

  • Strong capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong knowledge and experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP.

  • Expert in Fixed Assets, Management Information and Business Analysis

  • US GAAP experience and Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-starter with desire for continuous improvement

  • Experience in successful process and system improvement initiatives

  • Strong communication skills
