Position Overview

The Raw Material Planning Manager will report directly to the Senior European Supply Chain Manager and will play a pivotal role in shaping and deploying the new Supply Chain organization for the Europe region.

This position will lead a team of 8 to 12 Raw Material Planners, responsible for implementing the new Supply Chain operating model across multiple H.B. Fuller manufacturing sites in Europe. As a key driver of transformation, the Raw Material Planning Manager will ensure consistent execution of processes, alignment across plants, and adoption of best‑in‑class planning practices.

In addition to team leadership, the role will spearhead the rollout of new supply chain processes and policies, guaranteeing their effective application across all European H.B. Fuller facilities. This position is crucial to building a robust, efficient, and future‑ready supply chain that supports operational excellence and service reliability across the region.

Primary Duties

Team Leadership & Operational Execution

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8–12 Raw Material Planners, ensuring high performance, accountability, and consistent execution of the new European Supply Chain operating model.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and process discipline across all planning activities.

Inventory Strategy & Performance

  • Own and manage all Raw Materials, Packaging, and WIP inventory across multiple European plants, guaranteeing the right balance between service levels and working capital optimization.
  • Set, review, and adjust inventory targets, ensuring alignment with production needs, service objectives, and volatility in demand.
  • Identify root causes of inventory or service deviations and drive timely corrective actions.

Implementation of New Processes & Policies

  • Lead the deployment of new end‑to‑end planning processes, standards, and policies across H.B. Fuller’s European manufacturing footprint.
  • Ensure consistent adoption of planning parameters, system settings, and operational guidelines in all plants.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional alignment with Operations, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and global Supply Chain teams.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as the central point of communication for raw material planning topics, ensuring transparent updates on demand changes, service risks, and inventory impacts.
  • Facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly planning routines, enabling efficient decision‑making across all stakeholders.

Risk Management & Issue Resolution

  • Proactively identify current or potential material supply risks, capacity constraints, and planning bottlenecks; develop mitigation plans and ensure follow‑through to resolution.
  • Manage the disposition of excess, obsolete, and slow‑moving inventories, including coordination of shelf‑life extensions with Quality and warehouse teams.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Monitor key KPIs and planning metrics, providing clear and actionable insights to leadership.
  • Ensure planning accuracy, system integrity (e.g., SAP parameters), and visibility of supply chain performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, preferably with direct responsibility for planning or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience, ideally managing planning teams or driving cross‑functional initiatives at regional or multi‑site level.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, with solid experience in Supply Chain–related transactions and reporting; SAP experience is strongly preferred.
  • APICS / ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or similar) is considered an advantage.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in change management, process implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the capacity to prioritize and drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to take ownership, make informed decisions, and ensure follow‑through to execution.
