Position Title: Sustainable Packaging Intern

Location: Mindelo, Portugal 

Position Overview 

Support strategic sustainability initiatives determining sustainability value of adhesives solutions and effectively communicating them to commercial team and customers.

Primary Responsibilities

Areas of learning for intern

• Deep dive into sustainable packaging, adhesive applications, packaging materials and legislation

• Understand production processes for different packaging types, their recycling processes and end of life scenarios

• HBF Global Responsibility strategy

• Social media, communication & event planning

Areas of responsibility

• Build customer benefit/ value models based on sustainability metrics such as energy use, production output, line stoppage for cleaning etc. resulting in CO2 savings

• Customer engagement for sustainability project work

• Benchmarking of competitors, customers and suppliers

• Develop training materials for internal & external purposes

• Develop learning modules for HHC Rigid Packaging team on our strategy, industry definitions, market trends, regulation and more

• Support presentations for speaking engagements: story line, content development

• Support and draft social media posts for sustainable digital thought leadership on sustainable packaging: calendar planning & execution

• Support event organization of HBF Packaging Sustainability Conference in March 2025

Minimum Requirements

• Completed BA and currently enrolled or already completed MA in business, marketing, sustainability science studies or similar field

• Excellent English spoken & written skills

• Strong Excel, PPTX and PC skills

• Can-do attitude, strong team player, eager to learn, self-starter & strong organizational skills
