Position Overview

This position is for a QC Technician I, located in Surbourg (France), reporting into Plant Manager. It promotes awareness of quality and ensures that the quality management system is monitored regularly and supports all functions to ensure that the system is up-to-date and that practices are carried out.

Primary Duties

  • Ensures that all safety protocols are followed and that proper maintenance is maintained

  • Handle all activities related to quality control of received raw materials, production products and finished products to meet customer requirements.

  • Raw material inspection upon receipt: verify the presence of the certificate upon receipt or check the conformity of the materials

  • Authorize the use of the raw material or block its use if non-compliant, in consultation with the Quality Coordinator if necessary

  • Ensure that all equipment is calibrated as required.

  • Work closely with production: review Process Orders and propose good manufacturing practices, perform analysis of production batch samples and, if necessary, provide adjustment instructions, perform analysis of finished products and authorize shipment to customers.

  • Prepare the necessary documentation and create certificates of conformity, if required.

  • After each instance of non-conformity, inform all relevant departments with the appropriate written documentation, in consultation with the Quality Coordinator if necessary.

  • Organizes the handling of non-conforming products

  • Maintains an up-to-date inventory of analyzed samples of raw materials & finished products; manages their storage according to company guidelines.

  • Analyzes samples of raw materials or finished products that require further extension and provides feedback on their status and subsequent handling.

  • Internal and external communication of commitment and environmental culture

  • Consistent compliance with environmental regulations, contributes to protecting and preserving the environment by adhering to environmental guidelines, sorting waste, conserving energy daily, and reporting any environmental hazards or suggestions

  • Take care of your own safety and the safety of others by respecting safety instructions and reporting any hazards or suggestions regarding health and safety.

  • Participate in internal and external audits (ISO, automotive, maintenance, etc.).

  • Collaborate with all internal departments on the continuous improvement of the system and thus increase quality awareness.

Minimum requirements:

  • Knowledge of chemistry and quality control
  • Experience in the adhesives industry is an advantage
  • Good written and oral communication skills (French). English is a plus
  • Good computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SAP
  • Rigorous, methodical, organized, and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 would be an asset
