POSITION OVERVIEW

The role of a cleaner is to ensure that all the areas assigned for cleaning are kept clean and hygienic. Cleaners need to be familiar with all the applicable standards of safety and hygiene, use the appropriate cleaning equipment, safely handle and store chemical substances and cleaning products, use personal protective equipment where necessary (e.g. gloves, safety glasses or a face mask) and know how to properly dispose of waste.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Report directly to the Maintenance Team Coordinator
• Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, kitchens and other public area
• Removing old food from communal fridges or cupboards and disposing of waste
• Emptying the rubbish
• Safely diluting industrial cleaning chemicals and using them at appropriate levels
• Refilling and restocking cleaning supplies and toiletries (Hand wash, toilet paper, paper towels)
• Maintaining cleaning products and ordering new supplies when necessary
• Conducting monthly disinfection and deep cleaning

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 1 year experience as a cleaner
• Organized and hard working
• Friendly and approachable
• Positive attitude
• Work well under pressure
• Ability to Multi Task
• Work well in a team as well as on your own
