Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out day‑to‑day preventative and reactive maintenance activities across site equipment and facilities. This role works closely with the Engineering and Production teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation. The position also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Report directly to the Engineering Team Leader and work collaboratively with Technicians, Operators, Team Leaders, and Managers across departments
Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment, including reaction/mixing vessels, decant stations, and pumping systems
Plan and execute maintenance activities, coordinating with Planning and Production teams to minimise downtime
Complete reactive and preventative maintenance work orders within agreed timeframes and escalate unresolved constraints as required
Ensure all maintenance activities are recorded and tracked within the CMMS (Emaint)
Carry out safety and condition checks across site equipment, ensuring compliance with company procedures, permits, risk assessments, and method statements
Support engineering projects, plant improvements, and modifications, including installation of new equipment
Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the maintenance department and when working on site
Promote safe working practices and operate in line with company core values of Safety, Care, and Trust
Minimum Requirements
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
1–3 years’ experience in a maintenance or engineering environment
Proven skills in fault finding, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Competent IT skills, including use of CMMS software and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
Preferred Requirements
FLT licence (beneficial but not essential)
Permit writing experience (training provided if required)
DSEAR awareness
P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) awareness
Experience supporting plant upgrades, modifications, or new equipment installations
