The Accounts Payable Supervisor plays a key role in supporting global finance operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of service level agreements (SLAs). This role oversees AP activities across LATAM and North America, leads strategic initiatives including automation and process improvements, and manages a team responsible for global AP processes. The Supervisor ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations while fostering team development and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise global accounts payable activities including scanning, validation, processing, and query handling.
  • Lead global strategic initiatives such as automation, robotics, and process migrations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal policies for all payable and payment activities.
  • Oversee month-end close responsibilities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor and report on AP KPIs (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Develop and implement escalation and resolution processes for AP issues.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Provide performance feedback and career development for team members.
  • Support internal and external audits through preparation of documentation and adherence to controls.
  • Administer company policies and recommend process improvements to enhance results.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in a Shared Services environment.
  • Strong understanding of AP processes and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strategic thinking and knowledge of AP best practices.
  • Proficiency in journal entries, accruals, and closing activities.

Preferred Requirements

  • CMA or CPA certification.
  • General Accounting and Customer Service experience.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and LEAN methodology.
  • Experience with systems such as Concur, SAP, Blackline, and Adage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on team motivation and performance.
