The HRBP for Finance & IT is an advisor and operational partner to business leaders across the U.S. and Latin America region for 250 employees. This role supports multiple sites, driving HR initiatives that align with the department’s goals. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the HRBP applies critical thinking and sound judgment to address business needs, resolve site-specific challenges, and lead HR projects. This position plays a key role in fostering a high-performance culture while ensuring alignment with global HR standards and practices.  

Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Manages and resolves complex employee and labor relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations to ensure fairness and compliance.
  • Counsel’s employees and managers on workplace issues, ensuring adherence to employment laws, policies, and procedures.

Business Partnering and Advising:

  • Operates as a key partner to managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, workforce analytics, organizational effectiveness, and employee development.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor for performance management, employee relations, and policy interpretation.
  • Supports business leaders in implementing HR recommendations and driving change efforts to align with business objectives.

HR Program Delivery:

  • Collaborates with functional HR experts in recruiting, training and development, compensation, and benefits to optimize programs for the specific needs of local facilities.
  • Facilitates employee lifecycle processes, including internal transfers, promotions, and exit interviews, identifying trends to enhance retention and career development strategies.
  • Participates in the creation and implementation of HR policies and programs to address workforce needs and drive organizational success.

Talent Planning & Management:

  • Participates in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and effective achievement of training objectives.
  • Supports employee development initiatives to foster engagement and skill enhancement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • At least 3 years of HR experience as a business partner or generalist.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations, performance management, and HR program implementation.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR practices in both the U.S and Latin America.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgement, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.   
  • Excellent interpersonal, consulting, and communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal) is required.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience in Workday is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the U.S. and Latin America as needed.

Preferred Requirements

  • HR Certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR or international equivalents (e.g. Costa Rica’s INA-accredited HR programs).
  • Experience supporting Finance and/or IT functions in a matrixed global organization.
  • Experience working in shared services or regional HR model.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR metrics and provide data-driven insights.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus, given regional collaboration with LATAM and Portugal.

Physical Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and via phone or email.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift to 10 pounds (e.g. files, laptop, presentation materials),
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally (primarily between the U.S. and Costa Rica) up to 10-15% of the time.
  • May require flexibility to accommodate meetings across multiple time zones.
