Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

  • The key purpose of the role is to lead efficiently the regional planning (demand + supply) processes across in LA, to assure supply chain planning performance and standardization.
  • Acting as highest escalation within Supply Chain Planning.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • This individual will be involved in a variety of regional functions mainly in demand planning, supply planning and scheduling processes, supporting company’s Sales Department and Planning Department in the creation of master planning. This function will mainly execute the following tasks:

Demand planning:

  • Create, check and adapt statistical forecast.
  • Integrate sales activities into forecast.
  • Create supply and demand balance.
  • Review demand of critical materials and customers.
  • Coordinate special actions, phase in / phase out.
  • Create and send out monthly reports.
  • Contact sales for questions on slow movers, supply strategy changes.

Supply Planning:

  • Monthly planning for Plants.
  • Rough Cut Capacity Planning for Plants.
  • Replenishment of LA warehouse.
  • Check with warehouses for GR and GI not done.
  • Handle unexpected production downtime and production capacity conflicts.
  • Handle exception requests from Customer Service.
  • Responsibility of stocks/inventory profile.
  • Monitor and balance inventory and service.
  • Decision on reworking, scrap for SMOB.
  • Check materials in Quality if they can be released.
  • Material Master Data maintenance regarding MRP views.
  • Define planning strategies aligning and informing production and sales.
  • Update Stock transfer Orders.
  • Participate in business review meetings.
  • Contact person for CS regarding availability.
  • Solve issues when CS has problems entering sales order (master data issues, incorrect plan).
  • Organize urgent transport with logistics/customer service.
  • Daily contact with Intercompany teams (for organizing trucks, giving availabilties, etc).
  • Pressure in CS/sales to respect cut overs and MOQ.
  • Organize samples with Customer services/sales.
  • Prioritization when we have OOS checking with sales/CS.
  • Communicate to raw material planner to review possible issues.
  • Daily monitoring Service Level, analyzing reasons, gap analysis.
  • Daily monitoring OOS/Backlog.

Scheduling:

  • Responsible for short-term capacity planning for Plants.
  • Aggregate demand into a weekly production plan.
  • Sequences production, assigns volumes, dates and mixers to finished goods while keeping the process costs to a minimum.
  • Processes and manages changes in the demand and production schedule.
  • Communicates with raw material planning and production staff in order to ensure raw material and capacity availability.
  • Ensures realistic ATP calculation (ie keep production related dates and data that influences ATP up to date).
  • Check net demands for local production for the upcoming weeks and before they enter Frozen Zone.
  • Check generation of planned orders for local production and follow up in case of issues.
  • Ensures that the system always reflects actual plan and status accurately.
  • Generate daily production schedule with process orders with the right production date, volume, sequence, mixers/reactors and minimum of process costs.
  • Adapt schedule to changes if required.
  • Analyze backlogs from production, reacts on exceptions and makes decisions related to production planning.
  • Coordinate production and delivery of samples.

Required Skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10 years of experience in Planning, Logistics and Manufacturing or other related areas.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineer, Engineer or Chemist.
  • Data base management knowledge and PC skills (Advanced MsExcel User).
  • Industrial Engineer or related with experience in manufacturing processes and environment.
  • APICS certified.
  • Trilingual (Spanish/Portuguese/English) excellent written and verbal abilities.
  • Good communication and Team building skills.
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning process within any retail /consumer packaged goods with high complexity.
  • Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales & marketing operations.
  • Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities
  • Knowledge of S&OP processes.

Required Experience

EXPERIENCE

  • Industrial Engineer or related with experience in manufacturing processes and environment.
  • Experience in managing end of life cycle.
  • In-depth experience in related demand planning positions.
  • Experience using Massive Information Tool/Analysis.
