Position Title: Chemical Processing Supervisor

Location: ND Industries – Troy, MI

Shift: 7AM – 3:30PM, Monday – Friday (Flexible)

Position Overview:

The Chemical Processing Supervisor reports to the Business Manager and has primary responsibility for managing a department that manufactures micro encapsulated materials. In addition to multiple direct reports, this will require “hands on” work to assist with the set-up, operate/manufacture, trouble shoot, and optimize all equipment and processes in the production of Micro Encapsulated materials.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain daily/weekly manufacturing schedule
  • Manage hourly workforce by enforcing safety and quality procedures, and maintaining daily production standards
  • Maintain proper inventory and interface with suppliers
  • Root cause analysis and methodical corrective action approaches required
  • Create and maintain the departments SOPs
  • Collect and report technical process data to R&D team
  • Interface with various departments, suppliers, customers in a professional manner
  • Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
  • Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and manage purchase orders
  • Maintain “hands-on” approach to managing team and training. Actively engaging in the daily operations
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-year technical degree in Chemistry, Chemistry Engineering or related Science degree
  • 4 years of relevant experience required, must be in supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of structure property relationships of microencapsulation formulation ingredients and process.
  • Able to work independently
  • Good organizational, communication and computer skills
  • A strong understanding for systems
  • Fluency in English required.  

Preferred Requirements:

  • 4-year technical degree in Chemistry, Chemistry Engineering or related Science degree
  • Experience in chemical processing company

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $85,000.00 - $95,000.00.
