Rate of Pay: $26.50-$28.50/hr based on experience

Position Overview
The Chemical Mixing Operator supports pilot plant and process development activities by operating chemical process equipment to produce new and semi-commercial products. This role plays a key part in supporting product development, process improvement, and scale-up activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
The technician operates with a reasonable level of independence and provides backup support to Senior Process Development Technicians as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
Operate chemical process equipment to manufacture batches of new and semi-commercial products
Pull raw materials, perform quality control (QC) testing, and clean process equipment
Produce and package semi-commercial quantities of products while maintaining high quality standards
Generate samples of new products and assist process engineers with developing new commercial processes and improving existing processes
Operate computerized process control systems; read, follow, and execute process procedures
Observe, record, and document process data accurately
Perform standard and advanced QC testing and complete SAP production reporting
Clean reactors, mixers, and associated equipment following batch production
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; practice 5S principles
Follow all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS)
Become certified on two or more product types and associated process equipment
Provide backup support for the Senior Process Development Technician, including training support and coordination of reactor room activities
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
1+ year of chemical or industrial manufacturing experience demonstrating mechanical competency and batch processing
Ability to wear a half-face or full-face respirator
Strong understanding of chemical process piping/flow systems and process equipment, including pumps, valves, and instrumentation
High mechanical aptitude
Ability to safely handle 55-gallon drums and 55-pound bags of material
Ability to safely operate a stand-up forklift (training provided)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with, or ability to learn, Microsoft Excel and SAP
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a pilot plant or chemical manufacturing environment, including operating chemical reactors, compounding, or mixing
Laboratory technician experience, including following test methods
Mechanical proficiency with coursework in science or engineering disciplines
Associate degree or certifications in Laboratory Technology, Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Technology
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $26.50 - $28.50 / based on experience.In addition to your salary, H.B.
