Position Title: Process Engineer
Location: Yantai, China

Position Overview

Manage routine production process work, new product introduction/Scale-up and current product improvement. This position reports to the process and quality manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • According to the production plan, prepare and distribute the corresponding SOP. Supervise and inspect the on-site production process including mixing, filling and packaging processes, and collect the corresponding documents after production for record inspection and confidential filing.

  • Organize feasibility studies for new product introduction/process improvement and coordinate related preparations.

  • Coordinate with planning and chemists to set the production time of new products/new processes and track their production in Yantai factory on time.

  • Organize new products system setup/change in Yantai.

  • Contact chemist/process engineer to confirm the production process, product change order, new chemical raw material evaluation form and MSDS, TDS information of new chemical raw materials.

  • Confirm with the factory process engineer and safety manager whether the new chemical raw material/new process is allowed to be used in Yantai factory, if yes, inform the plan and arrange production; if not, notify the chemist.

  • Prepare process SOP, and train production staff on site before production.

  • Track production process and communicate with chemist/quality engineer based on actual metrics.

  • Follow the three batches’ process and the product’s specification of the new product or process changing, and compile formal report. If the specification abnormal, discuss with chemist/process engineer in time.

  • Investigate and solve production problems and customer complaints, test and study the application performance of existing products (including mixing, filling and packaging processes)

  • Internal & external communication and coordination.

  • Other work arranged by supervisor and manager.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or other related field

  • At least 3 years of experience in fine chemical industry or new material industry, possessing the scale-up process control experience.

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Ability to work well in a team, proactively communicate, cooperate and strong pressure resistance

  • Experience with SAP systems is preferred.
